Baker for Batter Cupcakes

Job Description
The person for this position will be the assistant baker for Batter Cupcakes this summer for local special events.  Events include but are not limited to the Beaver Creek Rodeo on Thursdays, the Dillon Farmer’s Market on Fridays, the Edwards Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and the Vail Farmer’s Market on Sundays.  Batter also caters weddings, birthdays, baby showers, corporate events and maintains several wholesale accounts. 

Key Responsibilities
This position is an opportunity to gain kitchen experience in a small business environment.  He/She will be working very closely with the founder/head baker on filling daily orders.
  • Baking various menu items.
  • Cleaning, organizing and stocking. 

Key Qualifications
This person should be personable, energetic, punctual, communicative and have some baking experience.  He/She must be artistic, organized and passionate about baking.
  • This person must be able to multi-task and work efficiently in a commercial kitchen environment. 
  • Excellent math (addition and subtraction) skills necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs including ingredients and kitchen equipment.
  • Be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Hours of Work/Schedule
This baker will work 5 days/week, preferably Wednesday through Sunday.  This position starts on June 7th and ends on September 22nd, with the potential to extend into the fall/winter based on performance.  The expectation is for this person to be able to fulfill all shifts required based on a 40 hour work week.  The schedule does include 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. 

Compensation
This position pays $10/hour, and is based upon a 40 hour work week.  There is the opportunity for growth into the winter season based on performance.
